Testing for Drug Allergies
Both prescription and over-the-counter medication have the potential to trigger allergic reactions in patients. They include skin rash, hives, coughing, swelling of the lips, tongue and face or even anaphylaxis. Drug-related reactions often occur with medicines that patients have been taking for years. An example is angioedema which is swelling that occurs under the skin rather than on the surface. The condition can result in hospitalization.
Northwest Sinus & Allergy Clinic utilizes the most modern and advanced investigative testing methods for sensitivity to medicines.
A wide array of serum testing techniques are now available. We work closely with our primary care and specialty medicine providers to evaluate and make recommendations for changes in the patient’s medication.
